You have the option of using separate credit cards for each passenger to pay for the room. You also have a choice to take either the best room available in the category you choose or to be flexible and possibly get a free upgrade. I’ll take the free upgrade… thank you very much!

One reason I chose Norwegian is because of their slogan, “Dinner will be served promptly at whatever o’clock.” If you don’t feel like eating at 5:30 pm every day, you don’t miss out on your meal. I love that. This cruise is normally $900 for an inside cabin. I’m so excited about our deal!
You can board the ship any time from noon until 5:00. One of the most wonderful parts of the cruise is when it takes off from the port. I’ll be sure to set up a meeting place so that we can all enjoy this together. Feel free to invite anyone you want. My next-door neighbor is coming, as well as my mom, little brother and the sweet couple I got some oleander from on CraigsList. I’m quite sure they won’t be joining us at the Eclipse training! We’ll have some meeting places designated ahead of time in case you want to do things as a group. One thing that I did on my last cruise that was really an adventure of a lifetime was to swim with dolphins. It costs almost as much as the cruise, but it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Is this for voice writers? Is price all included?
Hi Wanda!
You can do everything in Eclipse with voice that you can do with steno. I’m not a voice writer trainer, but a lot of things I’m teaching would apply to the way you use Eclipse, and some would not.
The cruise is $288.56 with tax and everything. The training is $99, and you do not have to take the training to go on the cruise. I know several people who are going who are not involved in reporting in any way. Hope you’ll come to the Bahamas with us!
Are there ce credits for the training? Is 288.56 with tax and everything including the gratuities???
Hi Ann!
Yes, there will be .5 CEUs for the five-hour training. The $288.56 does include the tax. Tips would be additional. On Norwegian’s site, it says $12 a day is the amount they charge for the waitstaff, and if you don’t get good service, you don’t have to pay it. I think that just makes it easier than having to tip everybody who brings you a drink or a meal when we’ll be eating all day long!
Please sign me up!!
Zoie, great!!! Just click on the link above the Bahamas map that says “Click here to book your cruise now.” It took about three days for my name to show up on the booked passengers list, so don’t worry if it doesn’t show your name immediately.
If you’re wanting to sign up for the Eclipse class, just click on “Eclipse” at the top of this page and then look for the Bahamas Eclipse training class, and there will be an “Add to Cart” button on that page.
Please click on the Bahamas Bound cruise forum if you’d like to get in touch with others who are going. See you in Miami!
Hi. My husband and I would like to go. We’re in Ft. Worth. If we flew in Monday morning and arrived at Miami airport by 1:00 would we have time to get on the ship? Also how much time should be allowed to get off the ship at 8:00 and make it to your plane?
Do kids pay full price? Thanks.
Hi Jana!
If your flight gets in at 1:00, you should have plenty of time. The Port of Miami is only about eight miles from the airport. The ship takes off at 5:00. No problem.
As far as flying out on Friday, I’d allow a couple of hours to get to the airport. They have you put your luggage out the night before, and it seems like you wait around for them to call your group to leave the ship for about 30 minutes to an hour.
I’m glad you guys are going! We’re going to have a great group.
Hi Liane -
There’s no discount for their age, but the third and fourth people in the room are much cheaper per person. If you click on the “Book your cruise now” button, you can see the different options, depending on how many people are traveling. If I did the math right, the third and fourth people are $178.56 total, including tax.
I know they do have some kids’ activities and even babysitting. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Julie:
When are you doing the training?
Hi Kati! The plan is to break it up into two 2-1/2 hour training sessions. I don’t want to cut into our beach time! The exact meeting room and times will be determined once I know how many people we need seating for… if there is just a small group, we have more options. I’m hoping to get the training done in two early classes.
Julie
Julie, are you aware that the rooms at the Holiday Inn that you recommended are $124 per person per night? Is there a better alternative?
Also just an idea, wouldn’t it be better to do the training when the ship is cruising to the next port at night? I just know that mornings are hectic, especially when at port and people are trying to go on excursions, etc.
Hi Zoie! I’m so glad you’re coming to the Bahamas with us! I did know about the rate at the Holiday Inn, and I’m working on getting us a better group rate. We still have some time to shop around.
And thanks for your input about the training time. I thought it might be a good idea to get the training over with first thing in the morning so people wouldn’t have to worry about being somewhere at a certain time later. I don’t want to interrupt dinner plans or cause anybody to miss a show … there’s just no good time! But we’ll figure something out.
Sounds great. Just keep me posted, please. It’s just kind of hard to pay almost as much as the cruise, but I’m sure it’ll work out.
You sound like you know what you’re doing with all the planning. So I’m sure it will be wonderful.
Where do we sign up for the Eclipse training at? Did I miss it?
Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate all your hard work. I know it’s not easy.
Hi Zoie! Here’s the info on the training, and there’s a link at the bottom of the page to sign up:
Eclipse Training in Bahamas
I’m sure we can get a better deal on a hotel. Thanks for the note!!!!!!!
Hi, Julie.
I very much enjoyed the informative training sessions in Dallas this past weekend and have what is probably a dumb question about the cruise. Having never been on one before, I’m wondering if this is an all-inclusive price or if meals will be an additional expense.
Hi Debbie!
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the training seminar in Dallas! You guys did so well, even sticking it out through auto-indexing.
The cruise will have an almost endless supply of food that is included in the price. You can even order two or three entrees at dinner if you want. There is a $12 service charge added to your cruise credit card per day that will cover tips for all the restaurant servers and people who clean your room. I think sodas are extra, and I know alcohol is extra. But if you’re not a big drinker, there’s not a lot of extra expenses on a cruise.
Hope you’ll join us! Thanks for the sweet comment and for coming to the Dallas seminar.
Julie
Julie, my friend and I are definitely wanting to come along but we are gonna need .5 more CE points. Any chance of extending the training so we could get it all in on the cruise? Sure would be great.
Hi Monique!
I’m still trying to figure out how to fit the five hours in so that it doesn’t cut into too much fun time! Let’s see if we can figure out something for you, though. Would you like to get together for five hours on the Sunday evening before the cruise? Or even Monday morning. We board the ship from noon till 5:00, so we could have an extra seminar that morning. Hmmmm, that might work. We could do beginner or advanced Eclipse, auto-indexing, or even do a technology seminar unrelated to Eclipse. I love talking about gadgets. Let me know what you think. Anyone else interested in getting more points?
Julie
Actually, the more I think about it, Monday morning training doesn’t sound like such a good idea after all. I’m planning more seminars in the future, so this is not the last stop for training opportunities!
Hi, Julie.
What are you suggesting as far as a hotel (anything besides the Holiday Inn?) the day before we leave and transportation to the ship? Have you checked Fort Lauderdale vs Miami? Just thought if you’ve done the legwork, I won’t have to.
Thanks,
Shirley
Can’t wait to get out of town for the Bahamas cruise! We got a great deal on our room for the night before through Priceline: $75 for the 4-star Sofitel. They have a free shuttle from the airport, and cruise port transfers are $10, if anybody’s still looking for a room.
